How Is Your Mind Driving Results?

With the understanding that our ability to manage our emotions and remain calm under pressure has a direct link to professional performance, CEO's and business leaders have begun implementing mindfulness as a tool for corporate development and performance coaching.

High performing executives are adopting multi-disciplinary approaches to become more productive and effective under pressure.  With the understanding that our ability to manage our emotions and remain calm under pressure has a direct link to professional performance, CEO's and business leaders have begun implementing mindfulness as a tool for corporate development and performance coaching.

The research on mindfulness reveals we can 1) build resilience, 2) develop focused attention, 3) manage sustainable energy levels and 4) strengthen our emotional intelligence.  When I first entered the field of Performance Coaching, these were sought after areas of development in elite athletic training.  Athletes and coaches understand the two obstacles that interfere with winning are overtraining (stress to the body) and cognitive training (how am I perceiving my obstacles).

As the demands of Corporate America rise, business leaders recognize running their business is an endurance event.  It's not a sprint.  However, much like the athlete, it's not their education (or skill training) that's their greatest obstacle.  It's the demands of the environment and how we're mentally and emotionally processing these demands that becomes the obstacle.  The same benefits of mindfulness are all key elements to understanding how our mental and emotional states of be'ing are driving business strategies.  Especially when those strategies are not producing the desired results.
