Why Breath Works for a Scattered Mind

A scattered mind is a sign that your nervous system is in a low-grade activation state — not quite in fight-or-flight, but not at rest either. Attention fragments, tasks pile up, and the harder you try to focus, the more elusive clarity becomes.

Intentional breathwork interrupts this pattern by giving the mind a single, rhythmic object to follow. As you synchronize your breath, your brainwaves begin to entrain, your prefrontal cortex re-engages, and the noise begins to settle. You do not need to force focus — you simply need to breathe, and focus follows naturally.
